Or a bad one. Or even one that features a few scenes in a ski resort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some suggestions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slalom (2021) &#8211; French<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"614\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/slalom-1338-1024x614.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2787\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/slalom-1338-1024x614.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/slalom-1338-300x180.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/slalom-1338-768x461.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/slalom-1338.jpg 1240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Guardian film critic asks &#8220;Is this a tale of abuse, or forbidden love? Or is there something insidious in asking that question, suggesting an ambiguity that will err leniently on the side of love?&#8221; Well, that&#8217;s for you to find out in this well regarded French movie from Charl\u00e8ne Favier,  who drew on her own experiences in Val-d\u2019Is\u00e8re in the making of her debut feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nordwand  (2008) &#8211; German<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/images\/grindelwald.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This film is about mountaineering rather than skiing, but it all takes place on the North face of the Eiger in 1936, above <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/grindelwald.php\">Grindelwald<\/a>,  and is compelling viewing &#8211; which is more than can be said for some of the movies I&#8217;m going to review that feature a lot more slope-side action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chalet Girl (2011)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/chalet_girl_o-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2788\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/chalet_girl_o-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/chalet_girl_o-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/chalet_girl_o-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/chalet_girl_o.jpg 1181w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This story of a working class girl becoming a snowboard champion in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/stanton.php\">St Anton<\/a> is entertainingly watchable dross. It has Bill Nighy in it. Do you need to know anything more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Claim (2008)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QlU5v694CKI\n<\/div><figcaption>Full movie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The press release says:<em> &#8220;CLAIM, The Greatest Ski Movie\u2026 EVER!\u201d A truly epic film shot in the most amazing locations, featuring the best and boldest skiers in the world today: Mark Abma, Jon Olsson, Shane McConkey, Eric Hjorleifson and more. <\/em>I would add it only takes an astonishingly awesome 2 minutes before the film features &#8220;The Final Countdown&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On Her Majesty&#8217;s Secret Service (1969)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"On Her Majesty&#039;s Secret Service (1969) - Official Trailer - George Lazenby Bond Movie HD\" width=\"525\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dOLq5Rg9N-c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>Trailer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is one of my favourite Bond films, despite starring the relatively unpopular George Lazenby. A whole bunch of the action takes place on the Schilthorn, above  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/murren.php\">M\u00fcrren<\/a> in Switzerland, including a memorable ski chase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>There&#8217;s five to start with.
