{"id":1736,"date":"2014-11-07T07:59:42","date_gmt":"2014-11-07T06:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/?p=1736"},"modified":"2019-02-09T11:08:56","modified_gmt":"2019-02-09T10:08:56","slug":"best-place-ski","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.oatridge.co.uk\/nic\/news\/best-place-ski\/","title":{"rendered":"Where is the best place to ski?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The perennial question and subject of many an apres-ski discussion is &#8220;Where is the best place to ski?&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Well <a href=\"http:\/\/best-skiresorts.com\/blog\/bestes-skigebiet-gewaehlt-best-ski-resort-awards-2014-verliehen\/\" title=\"Best resorts in the Alps\" target=\"_blank\">Mountain Management Consulting and the University of Innsbruck<\/a> asked 47,935 skiers and snowboarders exactly that question and the answer was&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/zermatt.php\" title=\"Zermatt - the best place in the world to ski\" target=\"_blank\">Zermatt<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/images\/zermatt_3D.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"286\" alt=\"3d View of Zermatt, the best ski resort in the world\" class=\"alignnone\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also in the top 10 were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/adelboden.php\" title=\"Adelboden - best place to ski\" target=\"_blank\">Adelboden<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/flims.php\" title=\"Flims\/Laax - best place to ski\" target=\"_blank\">Laax<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/arosa.php\" title=\"Arosa - best place to ski\" target=\"_blank\">Arosa<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswintersports.co.uk\/saas-fee.php\" title=\"Saas-Fee - best place to ski\" target=\"_blank\">Saas-Fee<\/a>, with<br \/>\n Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis (Austria), Solda (Italy),  Alta Badia (Italy), Val Gardena (Italy) and Kronplatz (Italy) the more unlikely names filling out the top 10 places. Interestingly nowhere from France or the USA features, but they do seem rather dismissive of French resorts and they do a separate survey on North American sites (Whistler, Deer Valley and Vail are their top 3).<\/p>\n<p>So the question is still open. Which really is the best ski resort in the world?
